BIOGRAPHY

Recent International Roles

  • Jury Member at the Encuentro Internacional para Academias de Danzas – Cuba (1997, 1998, 2017, 2018)

  • Artistic Director of ENBC Italy

  • Founder of the Italian teacher training program Methodology of Cuban Classical Dance, in collaboration with the Alicia Alonso University Institute – Madrid

  • Artistic Director and faculty member at the Barcelona Ballet Project – International Dance Center Catalunya

  • Jury Member and Guest Teacher at numerous international festivals, including: Certamen Internacional Ciutat de Barcelona, Passi di Talento, Labat Grand Prix, Festival de San Lorenzo (Madrid), Grand Prix Danza Activa (Panamá), and Dance Open America (Florida)

  • Life – Broken Lives (against alcohol, drugs, and traffic accidents)

Education and Teaching

  • Studies at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome

  • Collaborations with academic and professional institutions including: Fondazione Teatro Nuovo Torino, Lovett School (Atlanta), Dance Theatre Parkland (Florida)


Dance Career

  • Member of the permanent company of the Accademia Nazionale di Danza, performing as a soloist.

  • Also performed with the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and the Teatro Comunale Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, dancing both as a soloist and principal dancer in major classical repertoire productions, including Giselle, The Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, Marco Spada, Swan Lake, and Papillon.

  • Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with world-renowned dance icons such as Rudolf Nureyev, Carla Fracci, and Sylvie Guillem.


Choreographic Productions and Festivals

  • Created original works presented at the Teatro Nazionale and Teatro Mella in Havana, as well as at Gala events in honor of Alicia Alonso and Fernando Alonso.

  • His choreographic creations have been featured in international events in Cuba, Florence, Rome, and Basel.

  • Serves as Artistic Director of renowned festivals such as the Labat Dance Festival, Reggio Danza, Urban in Danza Catanzaro, and Calabria Danzarte.


Awards and Recognitions

Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards, including:

  • Premio Tindari Grandi Artisti (1991)

  • Premio Civiltà del Mare for Choreography (1996)

  • Cultural and Academic Awards in Cuba (1997–1998)

  • Premio alla Promozione della Danza (2016 – FNASD)
