Welcome to our 7th edition of International Ballet and Contemporary Dance Competition “Domenico Modugno”.
The International Ballet and Contemporary Dance Competition, Domenico Modugno, in Lecce, Italy is the first and the only event of its kind in the area.
The main purpose of the event is to create opportunities for the young dancers to “network”, to see and to be seen by their peers, teachers, schools’ and companies’ directors, and of course, the audiences.
Connections made under such circumstances inevitably result in generous and even career, altering offers of scholarships and jobs.
Assessment of dancers cannot be complete without seeing them both on stage and in the studio. Thus, the Competition is designed to be a two-fold event comprising of a workshop and adjudicated stage performances.
The workshop is not mandatory.
However participants can book in advance their classes online (time and date to be defined – see the Workshop page).
Donations are welcome and greatly appreciated. Become an IBCDC donor and help us forward our mission of socio-artistical development
This year millions of people around the world including the “The world of Art” are affected and suffering from this unexpected pandemic situation.
We, as human beings cannot give up on our careers and dreams due to this terrible crisis. But united, we all can get stronger to prevail. It’s human nature to survive and move on, especially when we have the soul, the power and the tools to stay in touch. We need to support each other now more than ever.
Therefore, we kindly invite all Ballet Artists from around the world to join us in this challenging International Ballet and Contemporary Dance Competition “Domenico Modugno”, Special Virtual Edition, January 15th -17th, 2021.
Let’s “Fly” together ( as the great Domenico Modugno said in his song “Volare“) in a Virtual Fly that gives us all Inspiration, Strength and Hope for a better future.
