Diana Cardillo

Born in Turin from a pair of dancers, she has completed her studies at Vaganova Academy in
Saint Petersburg and at the Alvin Ailey Dance School in New York.
Her artistic career began at the Teatro Regio in Turin, where Serge Golovine from the Ballet of the
Opéra National de Paris recruited her to join the Ballet de Nancy and Rudolph Nureyev in the Ballet
Petrouchka.
She worked extensively as Soloist and Principal Dancer with some of the most internationally
appraised Ballet Companies as well as with renowned Choreographers from both Italy and abroad, such as
Aterballetto (with Luc Bouy and Renee Le Jeune), Ballet Royal de Wallonie (Jorge Lefebre), Opernhaus
Zurich (Uwe Scholz), Salzburger Festspiele (D. Thole, M. Manningel, E. Clarke), Hamburg Ballet (J. Neumeier)
and Ballet National de Marseille (R. Petit)
She partook in the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto with Robert Desrosiers’ Company and Elliot
Field Dance Company.
She danced in several television broadcasts, such as Fantastico 3 (choreography by S. Japino),
Serata d’Onore (choreography by F. Miseria), Europa Europa (choreography by Dennis Wayne).
She performed choreographies by Dennis Wayne in Danze per Archimede and Sagre della Primavera,
broadcasted by RAI from the Greek Theatre of Syracuse.
She as created choreographies for Musicals, Opera and TV Broadcasts for the Grand Theatre de
Geneve, Rai3 and Mozarteum Salzburg.
She was a choreographer of the music videos of two world record hits: Mambo No. 5 (Lou Bega) and
Rhythm is a Dancer (Snap!).
She worked as a Choreographer Advisor for the Movies La città delle donne and Ginger e Fred with the
Direction of the Maestro Federico Fellini.
From 2008 to 2010 she acted as Artistic Director for Sarzana Summer Dance Festival.
From 2018 she has been Artistic Director for the Festival delle Celebrazioni (Ballet, Music and Opera)
She currently works with Vento di Eventi Association as Artistic Director of numerous National and
International Dance Contests – among which Springtime Dance, Talenti alla Ribalta, DanzaMi, Danza
d’Autunno, Primavera Vien Danzando, E Lucevan le Stelle, Stelle in Palcoscenico, Premio Diamonds – in
which the juries are formed by the world’s leading exponents of the Dance world.
