CLASSICAL BALLET - CONTEMPORARY DANCE - CHARACTER DANCE:

Pre-competitive – OPEN CATEGORY
6 – 8 years old by 01/01/2025
SOLO/VARIATION (open category, time limit up to 3min)
NO POINTE SHOES ALLOWED!
Pre-Competitive solo dancers  may perform age and skill appropriate choreographed numbers, classical ballet repertoire variation and /or Contemporary/Open solo

JUNIOR I DIVISION

9-11 years old by  by 01/01/2025

Notes

  • Contestants may perform one or multiple entries in any category. For the solo Contemporary categories the contemporary choreography is understood for the purpose of this competition as pieces in either modern, contemporary or neoclassical vocabulary to be choreographed since 2013. For the Duet Classical division participants may present any classical ballet (NOT PAS DE DEUX) duet .
    For Contemporary Dance Duet participants may present any pieces in either modern, contemporary or neoclassical vocabulary to be choreographed since 2013.
    For Character Dance Duet division participants may present choreographies in character dance or folk dance vocabulary. In the Ensemble Classical division can be presented choreographies of classical ballet and neoclassical vocabulary.
    In the Ensemble Contemporary division can be presented pieces in contemporary, jazz or modern vocabulary.
    In the Ensemble Character Dance division can be presented choreographies in character dance or folk dance vocabulary.
    Duet (Contemporary and Character Dance ) and Ensembles categories are eligible for Best Choreography Award.
  • IBCDC has NON-REFUND policy. All Fees are Non-Refundable for any reason whatsoever! THE COMPETITION IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CANCELLATION in case of natural calamities, earthquake, war or pandemics. In the event that IBCDC is unable to hold a Live Competition due to EMERGENCY SITUATION or Theatre Closures, IBCDC will hold ONLY Virtual Competition on the same dates as the location that was cancelled. Any difference in fees will be refunded.
