ERMINIA GAMBARELLI

Graduated from the school of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. Join the company of the Teatro alla Scala in the role of soloist. She plays the main roles in John Cranko’s ballet “Taming of the Shrew”, Symphony in C” by Jiri Kilian, soloist in “Romeo and Juliet”, in “Swan Lake” by Rudolph Nureyev and many others.
In 1975 she graduated as a dance teacher at La Scala in Milan. In 1982 she joined the Cairo Dance Company as prima ballerina, choreographer and teacher. She joined the Cairo Opera where she played several roles including: The White Swan (Odette) in Swan Lake, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Medora in the Corsair, Clara in the Nutcracker, Marina and Madame Hortense in Zorba, Litri in Don Quixote.
She also plays roles in Giselle, Bolero, Carmina Burana, Cinderella, The Nile Bride, Malgré Tout.
She took part as a choreographer for Aida at the Pyramids and in 2008 for L’Aida in Beijing.
In 2004 she was appointed artistic director of the Cairo Opera. In the same year he received “The Order of Knight” of the Italian Republic. In 2007 she received the order of “Commendatore” from Italy.
